This appears to be moving forward ever so slightly again. I went by on the Expressway and the existing low rise building is entirely boarded up with Romeo Demolition signs posted on the fences. Nothing is issued yet in terms of demo permits however.
There hasn't been any movement on the ZBA/OPA either so constructing is certainly not imminent unless they are going to building something within the existing bylaw. I doubt that would be the case given this is RMU-20 zoning which limits heights to 6 floors, and density to 450 bedrooms per hectare. The original ask was for close to double the allowable density and height so unless something has changed significantly they're just going to sit on the site.
The interesting thing with this is the demolition control bylaw would come into play if they do demolish this with no imminent construction plans, unless the city makes an exception (entirely possible).
