They are planning on conducting upgrades as part of a rehab project, do with all that what you will.
For the rehabilitation projects the MTO has plans for the following:For bridge rehabs there is the following:
- Courtland to Victoria is planned for resurfacing with completion in 2027-2028 it is planned to be completed under contract 2026-3010
- Lancaster to King (St Jacobs) is planned for resurfacing with completion in 2027-2028, it is planned to be completed under contract 2026-3011
- Victoria to Lancaster is planned for resurfacing with completion in 2027-2028. Some design work is underway but there is no contract yet
- Bleams (New Hamburg) to Fischer Hallman is planned for resurfacing with completion in 2027-2028. Design work is underway.
- Foundry St Bridge, planned completion in 2027-2028, some design work is underway
- Sandhills Rd Bridge, planned completion in 2027-2028, some design work is underway
- Queen St Bridge (Petersburg), planned completion in 2027-2028, some design work is underway
Then a culvert replacement:
Laurel Creek Culvert @ University Avenue, this is a rather complex project but can't say much.
Any chance that the Laurel Creek culvert design could include a pedestrian tunnel and/or a pedestrian bridge that follows the creek?
I would love that, but unfortunately sometime we can't have nice things. I am sure they will argue that a tunnel would become an unsafe space for the public to use. Would be nice to connect hillside trail to Bechtel Park.
