I'm glad they're still trying to execute on the strategy despite the pretty problematic regulatory environment. There is certainly a lot of opportunity to upgrade this stuff. I have ridden this route once or twice to get to the Boardwalk. The last time I did, it was a nice enough off road trail but my friend fell while trying to manage one of the unimproved trails.
Here is the map of the route.

Can anyone tell me if they've done anything on Benton St? Last time I heard, they were saying they could not improve it due to DoFo criminalising building bike lanes in place of car lanes. I guess I'm exaggerating, it's not a criminal law, but it's still a law.
I think the route is really quite poor on that section...but...kind of unforced. I always used to go through the park, but even that is unnecessary. You can just go up David St. to Joseph and then you're on the downtown not-grid, which is at least definitionally downtown. I don't think going up Benton gets you more "downtown".
Well, nice either way, but you know, some things never change, the region and province continue to be obstacles to building a good city.
That was indeed annoying. I assume this is easier for printing but honestly who prints pdf maps.
