On a different note, the airport manager was on CBC KW this morning to talk about longer term planning. One interesting note was that YKF is apparently being used as a test case for shifting away from keeping buildings within the straight line approaches to the runways to restricted heights. With modern navigation systems, flight routes for landing and take off can be routed around taller buildings. I don't think it means that a 50-floor building will be at the end of the runway, but it does suggest that building heights in the region will have some flexibility where previously they didn't.
