This part of downtown could really be transformed in great ways if our city can manage it. I cant wait to see how it all turns out. The "Market District" was one of their proud moments a few years ago, some nice dense development with retail along this stretch of road (which is mostly empty lots, gravel parking lots, fenced off lots full of weeds and piles of dirt right now). If they can bring get more homes build - preferably affordable - this could become a really cool area downtown. Many years ago, it was quite an arts hub and it still is, in a way...there is a small gallery on King, KWAG and Centre and the Square are like 3 blocks away, there's a famous record shop etc. In my idealized world, I'd want to see the market booming every day, nearby shops able to make a living, some outdoor seating areas, galleries, music venues and cheap(er) places to live...all right beside the LRT line. A Kitchener Kensington Market (alright, I might be dreaming at this point...)
