LOL. How many people have got Covid-19 and died just going to the liquor store? What a joke these restrictions have become. This is the sort of nonsense you get when you let politicians attempt to dictate the best public health practices.
It's got nothing to do with getting COVID-19 at a liquor store, and everything to do with using liquor store access to convince people to get vaccinated.
I think the point was that those who are able to go out and buying pot or liquor aren't going to end up dead (what usually happens when you go into the ICU) anytime soon, vaccinated or not. The die hards that aren't going to vaccinate aren't unlikely to get vaccinated even with this mandate. Otherwise, you're targeting indigenous who have zero trust with government and you're targeting the homeless who also have zero trust with authorities -- though that really only applies to LCBO and The Beer Store.
The other demo-graph that aren't well vaccinated are 20-29 year olds -- mostly university students and recent grads, and they'll find ways to get their booze and drugs.
Deluca is trying to get political points, but that potato face isn't gaining anything by saying that. It's his party that ruined out healthcare system anyway.
