The COVID-19 pandemic
(02-26-2021, 05:41 PM)danbrotherston Wrote: Yeah, I think it's a trash location, but it was a trash location for all the other things in that building...disappointing, but not surprising in our car dependent city. They do say they will have other centres so hopefully future ones will be better located. To be honest, I have no idea how the average 80 year old gets around...but given our city, I suspect the majority do drive or have someone to drive them.

In my moms case, she’s driven by yours truly. Not that I’d even let her think of taking a bus, but I was curious to see what a round trip would be like (since her doctor moved out that way from mid-town Kitchener, where The Hudson (or whatever it is call now) is going to be built). A couple transfers and a good 20 minute walk, and reversed the same. All in all, a doctors visit would be about 5 to 6 hours (including 1 hour office time).

Most pharmacies have industrial freezers which easily meet the needs for the moderna vaccine, possibly some medical clinics won’t. But even if they can only distribute the others, then I still see no reason they shouldn’t automatically be part of the process.

Even the BioNTech vaccine is OK at normal freezer temperatures for a week, so, with decent delivery logistics, it should not be a problem for pharmacies.

Yep, seems to be. This was supposed to be a response to the e-cargo bike discussion.
