An average of only 1,002 tests per day for the past seven days for a positivity rate of 5.69%.

4,414 doses of vaccine administered with a seven-day average of 3,074. At this pace, the dose count will reach 70% of the regional population on 2021-07-14 (+2 days). This date is now trailing the provincial one by 30 days (+4).

Ontario reported 3,166 new cases today with a seven-day average of 3,266 (-103). 3,875 recoveries and 23 deaths translated to a decrease of 732 active cases and a new total of 33,645. -4,417 active cases for the week and 186 deaths (27 per day). 51,338 tests for a positivity rate of 6.17%. The positivity rate is averaging 7.57% for the past seven days, compared to 8.19% for the preceding seven.

858 patients in ICU (-19 today, -25 for the week) and a total hospital population of 1,924 (-277 for the week).

The difference is not so big now. My question is, how much of the UK/US first-shot slowdown is due to them focusing on second shots, and how much is vaccine hesitancy.

First seven days of May:
  • Canada +4.70% (of population) -- fourth-highest in the world, after Mongolia, Iceland and Bahrain
  • US: +1.66%
