I'm quite sure it has been significantly expanded -- look at the picture from above that shows the roof of the house.

Old Chicopee Trail has a very unique blend of houses, and a great view!

Your link doesn't work for me, nor does 449 exist, going from 447 to 451. I suspect you mean 452 OCT, and yes - it's a gorgeous house, and they're quite proud of it.
To me the real gem of the street is actually across (and down a bit), with an original English Cottage set on nearly an acre overlooking the city with a colossal willow in the back. I was told who the architect was but have since forgot.
Then of course you have the Ball home on the corner with the old barn hidden in the bush, and the GRCA-protected lake and woodland near the bottom of the hill that I'm not sure many people know exists. Just a wonderful neighbourhood.

It's actually for sale at the moment too.
Monster homes are all the rage these days, but who built a 10,000 sqft home in 1964?
The place across the street seems more "unique" to me.

I wonder how much use the street-facing terrace and balconies actually get? It's a somewhat unusual use of space that would not appeal to many people, istm.

The side/street/path facing ones get used regularly. In the near-two years we've been across the road, neither my wife or I have seen anyone on the upper street-facing terrace for anything more than putting up Christmas lights.

I'm not surprised - sitting out there on the second floor (as opposed to sitting out front on a real veranda which, although no longer common, is wonderful) would leave me feeling "on display" like the Christmas lights!

Haha... I like the sign! Much more polite than this one. which makes me cringe every time we drive past it... (when it was under construction, they installed giant floodlights on the thing and had them on 24/7, and had signs up all along the entrance drive, warning about trespassing, too.)
I've never understood the reason for having grand gates that block a driveway, and nothing but lawn around it. If you are that afraid of other people, I can understand putting up fences/walls, but blocking out ONLY cars just seems weird to me....

Too easy - trespassers on foot are easier to shoot than those in moving cars!

I knew it was a bit off but I didn't think anyone would call me out on it.
427 OCT is nice as well, but I posted 452 here because everyone that comes to my house mentions it, and it's certainly unique . Some love it, some hate it. Personally I like it. The Ball house is nice, but not particularly "unique", as is the intention of this thread. And sadly, the barn you mentioned has been reduced to nothing more than a foundation full of spray paint and broken beer bottles. I've been trying to find a picture of it in my local history research.
Also, I agree the pond is beautiful. I walk there just about daily. I didn't know it was GRCA-PROTECTED.

The gates have a stylized double "R" sigil, so I guess this is where Richie Rich lives?
