The 30 Francis lot looks like such a prime spot for a tower in that picture

And looking west-ish from the 30th floor

How did you get access to the roof?

This was a tour of the construction site. Everything above the 14th floor is still under construction.

The construction elevator is still there, but Charlie is still a good-looking fella.

Parking garage facade aside, really appreciate that this one has turned out pretty close to as advertised. A good addition to the downtown skyline and streetscape.

How many of those units will remain permanently dark as the real estate investors wait for their units to appreciate before flipping them?

I expect almost none. KW condo values have been appreciating, but property taxes + condo fees take a huge bite out of that appreciation if it's vacant. Plus mortgage interest and HST, though that may not apply to everyone.

Renting property out does take effort, but it triples your return, and that's without the mortgage/HST rebate factor.

Between the first picture and the foggy picture, it looks like only 1 floor is lit in both.... are the residents moving around in blocks?
