So, NS has opened a popup store (temporarily) in the Utrecht Centraal station with a whole bunch of products upcycled from their trains. When trains are EOL (which is true for many trains right now) they make some of the parts into other products and sell them.

Great gift ideas for fans of NS trains. And if anyone is interested, I can pick something up for them.

I mean, this is obviously about publicity. Whether the recycling value is really that meaningful, I have no idea, but it can't be worse than using virgin materials. But I think it also makes a fun gift idea.
