I find the news release a bit deficient in information. They say that the 401 will be widened to 10 lanes, and that there will be HOV lanes (not HOT, alas), but not the extent of them. And they say that three new interchanges on the 401 will be built, but don’t say where.
The Morriston bypass is definitely called for. I’m not sure the 401 needs to be ten lanes continuously to as far west as Cambridge. The money would be better spent giving travelers options to get them off of the 401.

There was an EA website available at one time, but it doesn't seem to come up anymore when I search for it. As I recall, the proposal was changed from a collector-express configuration to (I believe) two additional lanes that begin and end where 6 enters and exits.

If they are going to ahead with this why wouldn't they just push this new interchange a little further west and straighten out the northern part of highway 6 and along concession rd 7 so it meets the 401 further at east and at the same point?
Everyone move to the back of the bus and we all get home faster.

Seems like a pretty big waste of money to move the southern part of the northern part of highway 6. That part of the highway is already 4 divided lanes.

Did the snow plows get put into storage or what? Both Erb and Weber streets have not been cleared and it stopped snowing a while ago.

Victoria as well. Thought it was fairly ridiculous of the city to spring the whole "If you park on the street tonight you'll be fined because snow plows" thing, made even more so by the fact that there were no snow plows out at all.

My street (a small crescent in a residential area in Kitchener) was plowed by 7 this morning, so the plows were out overnight.

The plows and salters were out on Benton St hill last evening, but I guess it always gets done quickly.
