Is it just to me, the casual observer, or is Woolwich council a circus?

Forwell's in Heidelberg has opened a gas bar (with four pumps), so gas is back in Heidelberg after a gap of about 15 years. The old Heidelberg Motors gas station site, of course, is still undergoing remediation, for about five years now.

Great to see Forwells as a local company investing in their stores. I was a bit worried when the Waterloo location closed, but hopefully they are refocusing their efforts on the Heidelberg and Lancaster stores.

I believe the Heidelberg location has been sold (possibly even twice) so while it still keeps the name, it's no longer the same company.  Unless they are franchising, of course.

It's a circus.

I don't know if you been following the Breslau park / catholic school debate but its basically been a shit show where its not clear if Council is completely incompetent or if there are back room dealings that we're not aware of.

The real problem is a certain person who is constantly stirring the shit with regards to both the council and the citizens environmental committee.

Why some reporter hasn't looked into this man's past is beyond me, for there is much that is newsworthy.

The sooner he is gone, the better.

This is sort of true - but at the end of the day its up to the elected officials to follow the rules. Aside from Councillor Bauman (who was acclaimed, and I believe given wrong advice by staff) the other issues are legitimate complaints. They don't deserve to be kicked out of office - but they should be able to follow the basic rules and procedures. If they can't figure out what expenses and forms need to be filled out for the election, I certainly don't have much confidence in their running of the Township.

And like I said their handling of the Breslau park sale is just one more example where they can't seem to figure out the basic procedures they should follow in handling Township business.
