I was hoping to post about that first.
Anyway did my morning errands, 6:15am train left Fairview, at about 7:55 two stopped and left at the same time from GRH in opposite directions. Heading back south i saw one at Waterloo square then another one at Allen station. Lastly saw another one leave Fairview at 10:25.

I did mention yesterday that they were doing testing between Mill and Fairway. As for the hurdle, they were doing some signals work south of Mill crossing

I followed up and asked Galloway if the service start date announcement would also be coming on May 8, and he replied "TBD".

The GRT branding on the middle segment is a bit different - it was originally just the words stretched all the way across, now it's the GRT logo on one side and the words on the other.
There were also small GrandLinq/Keolis logos near the end doors, don't see them here.

I think it looks better with just the GRT logo and not the text.

I don't get a lot of ION spottings but I coincidentally came across 512 in its new livery at Erb and Caroline just before 10pm tonight. The electronic signs were displaying "SPECIAL". Signal timing seemed to be improved since the last time I saw a train there. I did notice a lot of cars tear off the moment the arms go up rather than waiting until they actually deactivate.

While at Mill Station, I tested the fare vending machine. It seems to be fully functional. I got as far as the page to add funds to the EasyGo fare card but didn't actually add funds because I already had plenty of funds on my card. Maybe somebody else can test one.

Thinking about this, this is a really positive sign that revenue service is getting close. They surely would not be applying the GRT livery now if they were expecting revenue service to still be six months away.
