I'm not looking for Michelin star quality, just something on a similar level to a low-end sushi place in Tokyo. Not AYCE, more nigiri selection than just the Atlantic salmon, and respectable quality.
taylortbb beat me to it! KW is close enough to YYZ that fish availability is not a problem. But trust me when I say KW is streets ahead of Wellington for sushi. There isn't much AYCE here (a plague!) but it's also quite hard to get something that's not salmon.
I did like Watami both in its first and second incarnations on King St. Not quite as good as Vancouver but ok.
