Bars and restaurants are different. They sell meals. Alcohol is mostly an adjunct to the food or live entertainment. People don't go there to buy alcohol to take home, as they do at the liquor and beer stores.
So? They can't sell anything but pot. If they could run like cafes in Amsterdam or if cannabis was sold like cigarettes it'd be available everywhere, without any hours restricting sales or anything like that. I think that would be better. I don't really drink and I think alcohol should be sold in corner stores too.
I don't' think the gov't should be legislating the number of pizza places or shawarma shops anymore than they ought to limit the number of pot shops. If there's too many they'll close up, and just guessing from the number of customers I've seen in the DTK shops I really don't think there's going to be a dozen shops downtown in a year or something.
