To be fair, the Aud is 70 years old.
Exactly, the region had a population of 50,000 when the AUD was built! The needs of our region have changed significantly. Yes they have made the minimum amount of updates and improvement to keep the AUDÂ going over the years, but you can only extend the life of a facility like this for so long. My guess is we have a new arena by 2030. So that is 80 years! That is a good life span for a large venue like this. Definitely not ridiculous to consider its replacement.
