I’m a block from the park.  This scares me, I will be staying in to avoid these people and their freedom delusions. But I hope the businesses nearby me that I rely on are not harmed by these selfish entitled people.

I'm hoping it turns out like the Hamilton one and twenty people show up and wander around for a bit.

Wow. It's surprising they released the source code for this. If someone who knows how to read Android source code can verify what is being sent back, I probably won't have an issue installing it (And before people say "But you use Android", yes I know...)

I haven't reviewed the source, but Apple and Google have both said they will only be approving one contact tracing app per country, and it must not use location data (just the Bluetooth tracing API). So provided you're installing from App Store/Google Play you should be pretty safe, especially given there's no guarantee anyways that the binary in the store matches the published source.

I installed the app for the iPhone but it says my iPhone is not compatible (iPhone 11). Tried re-intalling it a couple times, but no luck. First time I have had an app not work for me.

Very strange! I had no trouble on an iPhone XS. Unless you have not updated your phone -- it requires iOS 13.5 or later.

  • 16 cases in Ottawa: 1.6 per 100K population
  • 14 cases in Chatham-Kent: 12.6 per 100K population

Toronto now below 10 but York steps in to fill the gap ... and Chatham is back.

The app does need the Bluetooth antenna to work in a particular way in order to get correct range to other users and properly allow the 'note exchange'. Some phones don't have an antenna capable of that, or their operating system can't access it the right way.
