I have little sympathy for people who buy a home next to a road that is zoned commercial and then complain when development happens.   Same for people who buy a home downtown. Or close to the airport. What were they thinking?  That everything will stay the same forever?  That's just not realistic. And city councillors who side with them are just crass opportunists.
