Not sure how well this one would work on mobile. It's not done as well as the Uptown version

And one last piece of general news.

So, what is the original location, if not the current one?

This is the original location, but for the last year or two Jack Burger hasn't been open and Caper's was open in this spot while they were between the spot on Queen and the new one that was supposed to be opening on King. Now it seems like the owner of Caper's has died, so Jack's moved back into this spot. That's what I read in a post on fb anyways.

As far as I know it's always been there and it's always been Jack Burger (part of the Bobby O'Briens et al.). I think the tweet is just poorly written.

I think the FB comment was more about the clientele. After Frankie's and Capers shut down the regulars started going to Jacks to hang out.

The only thing I remember about Jack’s Burger is sharing a pitcher of their Combat Juice. …. Then I stopped remembering things.

I am quite confused by what's happening, but if Jack's can stay in that old house on Duke I think that's great! That house was definitely slated to be demolished as part of the condo culture build. I'm not sure why the Caledon paper was the first hit for this story, but this story about it was published in January 2021: https://www.caledonenterprise.com/news-s...kitchener/

Ah, yes, that's the 45 Duke St W project. So, is that dead now?

I asked the current owners about it at some point... IIRC I was told it's still moving along, and they expect Jack Burger to have another summer or two to stay open. But honestly, I've lost track of time, I don't remember when in the last year I asked.

If I were to guess, I would say that this is a re-branding of the globally local franchise that had been announced earlier.   Still pretty excited!

Which is what it says at the top of the linked page. No need for guessing.

I had no idea they were in Waterloo Region. I've been looking for a good vegan place to eat junk food like that for a while. A shame it's uptown though, I hate the vibe Waterloo has so I rarely ever go.
