I'm not too clear on the specifics, but Ron Donaldson from Contrabean, and Shelby Merrithew (previously the head coffee roaster for Smile Tiger) have started a shared coffee roasting space, the KW Coffee Collective. My read on it is that it's somewhat akin to a Maker Space, but for coffee roasters.
I gather they're located in the same building as City Cafe at Ottawa and Charles. It is interesting to see how development is occurring in the far south end of DTK.
