Something may be happening with the former White Rose property on Weber St. in Waterloo. https://www.waterloochronicle.ca/news-st...-waterloo/

Thanks for the article, I was not aware of the Waterloo North Hydro original use of the building, nor the fact that the site was contaminated.

This is good timing. I drove past it this weekend and came here to ask anyone if there were any updates since the White Rose closed so so long ago. Thanks for the link Acitta.

The old Manulife building at Weber and Columbia that was torn down and rumoured to be headed for redevelopment, is seeing action onsite.  However, it looks like Manulife is simply fixing up the parking lot (paving & lighting).  Sadly I think they will be using this as an employee lot, shuttling employees to and from the head office on King.

I left Manulife in July, but this was consistent with rumours and speculation I heard internally at that time.

I'm hopeful that this space gives them the flexibility to turn the current back surface lot into a structure, but I will be surprised if it pans out that way.

The St Louis school project seems to be progressing, albeit very slowly. When I drove past last week, the building had new glass in all (?) the windows. No signs with any indication of condo units so maybe this will be rentals?

This land mark building is a gem in a very desirable area of Waterloo. Well kept homes with some being historic. Saint Louis school project is very close to the Spur Line trail to take you to uptown Waterloo and downtown Kitchener.

"Construction will be co-ordinated with the completion of light rail transit (LRT) works in and around the square."

Hunh?

Came across a new render for the parking lot on the west side of Caroline beside the ION station. The file name was Caroline-Office-12-15-01-Perimeter-Dev so I'm guessing Perimeter is looking at this project? Haven't heard anything about it beyond this one render.
