Looks like they're close to opening.  Furniture is in, the bar has an espresso machine and a collection of hookah pipes, and people were cleaning the floors this afternoon.

I enjoy beer as much as anyone, but it seems like it would be out of place at Harmony Lunch.

Honestly, that's the kind of simple update that I think is necessary. There's a lot of money in alcohol sales.
We're in a world where movie theatres sell beer now! It's downright weird that a diner doesn't.

Sounds like good news to me. If they could convince Ish and Chips to share/license their fish and chips recipe, I'd be happy. I'd be interested to know what other parcels in that block that HIP has an interest in. Is this just biding time while they assemble a parcel, or is there something else in that block that will prevent anything larger from happening.

That sounds about right. That didn't seem like the right location at all for that type of place; it seemed a weird move to me.

Sorry, I deleted the post and moved it to the GastroPub thread.

For those wondering what we are talking about, GastroPub shut down on Oct 28.

Fairway Road Nando's is set to open Nov 23.

Nando's seems to be growing again, after a long quiet spell.  I used to like their peri-peri chicken when I lived in South Africa.  They also have a reputation for cheeky TV commercials that you probably wouldn't get away with on Canadian TV.

Re TV commericials, this is one of my favourites!
