ION - Waterloo Region's Light Rail Transit
During the Regional budget discussions, Tom Galloway said that the Region won't commit any funds for Phase 2 until the federal and provincial governments commit to it first. (As reported by the Record on Saturday)  Can anyone recall the time frame between when the federal and provincial governments kicked in for Phase 1 and when the Region added Phase 1 to the 10-year Regional budget? For instance, if the senior governments kicked in their share of Phase 2 tomorrow, I assume that the Region wouldn't have to wait until 2026 before it could be added to the 10-year budget.
