With the complete departure of Greyhound, does that crack open the door for the province removing the restrictions on intercity bus routes? My understanding was that the reason that GO buses don't travel direct from Kitchener to Toronto is because Greyhound had that route. The workaround was the connecting bus at Square One.
I hope that one day intercity transit will not assume that every passenger wants to terminate their train trip at Union Station in Toronto. I'm sure that some people would accept a transfer at Georgetown if it meant more frequent service with smaller trains between the cities west of Georgetown. The same could be said for the other outlying stops on the other GO routes.
