I've walked home with cases of 24. I've observed other people doing it, too. My wife used to live on Bloor and would carry cases home sometimes.

But The Beer Store also sells other quantities of beer. I bet people who don't drive (some of them must drink beer) don't buy it "mostly in 2-4s."
