Was talking to a renovator who said the old Ziggy part of the building is being renovated and renting to a business. So looks like I have to wait for the second phase of the CTV site for a building over 50 stories, unless the Region states it's too high for the Airport flight path, like the 50 Borden towers.
The 50 Borden site is outside of the approach for the airport and thus the height is not a major issue, you can look at the AZR map and see that. The Region also doesn't have final say over height NAVCAN does, thats why projects like Mill and Ottawa can get the height they want even though it intrudes into the AZR.
Everything around 50 Borden is zoned SGA-4 from Growing Together which is unlimited height with a holding provision which includes gaining approval from NAVCAN because the flight surfaces need to be adjusted, this is already happening in general but isn't complete.
Keep in mind that Vive and Woodhouse can resubmit the OPA/ZBA and use the new Growing Together rules and will have a much easier time. 50 Borden is also a Woodhouse project with Vive acting as a JV partner. So it wasn't ever going to be as quick as other Vive projects.
This project isn't VanMars main focus right now anyways so it was never going to be the first 50 floor building. VanMar is focused on Station Park before moving to other projects (10 Duke, this, both of their Waterloo ones).
