Only a small difference since Tom's photo 2 months ago.

There's a much more noticeable difference on the King St side in the last few months. They've built the structure of the 3-4 podium along all of King now.

My god it's ugly.

Looks like balcony railings are on the first tower now.

I think DTK is elegant compared to this. Granted - the DTK podium is horrific with the wacky lights and shoddy construction. The tower itself is slim and inoffensive. These behemoths are clunky and barbaric from every angle.

Barbaric! 😮

It just keeps getting worse and worse. Everyone involved in this project should be ashamed.

The tradespeople who are building what the drawings show need not be ashamed. I do agree that it would be nice if it were a little bit prettier. From what I've seen, a huge part of being an architect is making sure the building meets all the codes and will work well for the end user. Some architects are really good at that part but don't have any style. Other architects have excellent style and can make the exterior look great but struggle with the details of the guts of the building. The ideal architect has a perfect balance of both, but apparently that's tough to find!

These just look like every other Drewlo building in the area. They're nothing special to look at, but as someone who lived in the Drewlo towers on Wilson Ave for 3 years, they have spacious units and always have in-suite laundry - we had a 2bed 2bath apartment that was 1000 square feet, with a massive kitchen, a walk-in storage room, and enough living room space to fit a living room set and a 6-seat dining room table easily.
So yeah, it might not be pretty to look at, but these are going to be solid, comfortable homes for a lot of people.

Duke Tower is awful as well, but this is 100 times worse. With Duke Tower it's mostly the awful podium that stands out...but anyone who tries to say this has any positive qualities needs to get their eyes checked. It's atrocious and you don't need to have gone through 6 to 8 years of architectural design school to see that.
