The vote splitting is cause #1 there, but it really looks like Mike didn't grow his voting base over the last few years. That's a surprise to me because he genuinely seems like the hardest working guy in Parliament - and I can't help but add this to my list of footnotes about how working hard and being a genuine person really doesn't matter in politics. You won't get electorally rewarded for it, so why bother?I am really disappointed that Mike lost. He was one of the best MPs in Parliament. It is sad that people who couldn't even be bothered to campaign or attend debates end up winning seats. People are too susceptible to fearmongering. I think that the people who run CPC campaigns must spend the rest of their time writing screenplays for horror movies.
I'm disappointed about Cambridge, "Convoy" Connie is yet another local no-show at debates but it was relatively close by the end of the night. Bryan May is by all accounts a nice guy.
That anti-covid guy in KSH is just something I don't even want to talk about.
