I'm confident that first people will be moving in before the end of the year.

Me too. But let’s not conflate issues. Still a year before construction crews complete their work.

Wow there must be something special about the 07 suites, they are full up the whole tower even when the floor is almost empty.

Probably not finished yet, maybe waiting for some parts to complete.

Topped out, exterior work isn't going to be completed until the summer or fall.

I have not posted anything about this in 7 months, so here goes…

- After 9 years, the project is STILL incomplete.
- They STILL close Cameron for part of the day almost daily.
- The site is STILL chaotic at the corner of Cameron and Charles.
- There STILL is no Starbucks (and I doubt there ever will be).
- There is STILL no real retail presence, and the two existing retail tenants rarely have customers.
- The first tower is STILL mostly empty. I look out my back window at night and see very few lights on. I conclude that the units are mostly empty (or inhabited by vampires)
- The site is STILL noisy all day from construction. The good news is that the guy who yaps into a loudspeaker all day seems to have disappeared about a month ago.

Why do people continue to complain about this project? The answer is STILL, STILL, STILL!

I have shopped in the Kerala shop a couple of times. It is the only Indian grocery downtown, but it is rather small. The Region has a lot of better Indian grocery stores.

I would like to move into one of those buildings, but I am already paying too much rent.

It's a south Indian grocery, though, there are not many of those. I know there are (south Indian) people from Waterloo coming to DTK to shop at this one.

All valid complaints. That would be quite frustrating as a neighbour. As someone who just visits the market semi-regularly though, this and the other new builds in the area have drastically improved the cityscape around here in my opinion. I'm sure the tenants will eventually come to Vertikal, and when they do, it will really provide a further uplift for the area. Sure has been a slog getting to this point though.
