General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours
55 King Street West (former Canada Trust Centre) has been sold by DREAM REIT to Europro Real Estate. Apparently several other buildings were sold as well but have not been able to confirm which ones. DREAM owned six of the prime (conventional) office buildings downtown:

Europro has previously been shopping in Windsor:

I believe DREAM has sold all of their local properties, including Market Square which is likely to mean redevelopment.

It may be, yes. Am working on confirming what was sold ...

The Park Gate Business Centre at King (actually Queen) and Joseph is for sale. The sign says "For Redevelopment", but I'm not sure if the property is big enough to do much with.

I can't help but wonder, with Ion nearing completion are we about to see a lot of development properties come on the market? Im thinking yes.

One can only hope. I'm still not clear about which building at Queen and Joseph is being referenced above. Is it the old Schlicter's building that changed hands last year?

Got it!  I didn't realize that dump actually had a name!

I haven't taken out my "magic development wand" for quite some time, but I am waving it at that corner in hopes that the two neighbouring buildings can be consolidated into a future development (a la RED?), along with the worth-saving bits of Bullas Glass.

No, although that's another one with a ton of potential.

I'd really like to see that turn into something like 90 George in Ottawa.  Something where the podium fronts on two separate streets and has two very distinct looks.  If you haven't seen it:  https://goo.gl/maps/QYyaeFKcYjH2

I hope both Joseph and Queen are incorporated as to not neglect Joseph as it's an important corridor.  And could really frame in the old school next door.

Design Ok haha.  But the premise of a building fronting two parallel streets is what I was going for Smile

OK. My "magic development wand" could make that happen. Wink
