Keolis Grand River LP is supposed to take over the ION social media accounts sometime soon or closer to launch. With testing now ramping up to include all the vehicles that have the FIE it makes sense for them to hire their communications specialist now so that they can develop their communication strategies, get trained on Keolis corporate standards, and begin their messaging campaign. Especially now that winter is quite visibly upon us.

I’m surprised they are getting one now. Shouldn’t routine public communications about matters relating to LRT service and operations be completely integrated with GRT communications? The only time Keolis should need a spokesperson is if they get in a dispute with the Region and need to tell their side as distinct from what the Region is saying.

Keolis GR would better equipped for emergency and quick-response type scenarios like sending out things like service alerts and answering questions in a more timely manner than regional staff would be. Regional staff would still do some messaging, and planned messaging would still be co-ordinated but it's better for the operator of the system to handle emergency and quick-response type scenarios.

Does anybody know if the latest delivery went up last night? Usually I see the train go past but I fell asleep and can’t even say for sure if there was a train.

Not significantly. Any snow or ice on the rails is instantly displaced by the wheels, and steel-on-steel traction is superior to almost any other option.
Only if a large drift manages to form between vehicle passes might there be an issue.

I saw them out at 6:10am Friday, didn't get them number so maybe they just switched trains/operators
Edit: This was at R&T heading south
