Fall service changes are up, including new routes in Cambridge and Doon, and adjustments/added service elsewhere.

I'm disappointed there's nothing in there about the 3's schedule. I'm certain it's in no small part due to the construction on Ottawa near Homer Watson but it seems like the bus does not depart from Frederick on time in the afternoons. I typically get on the bus on Charles at Borden (one stop after Frederick Station) and it's at least 6 minutes late every time, and often (like last night) over 10 minutes late.

I don't want them to improve service necessarily - I mean, I would but that seems complicated. I only want the schedules to reflect reality so just publish the fact that it's going to come at 4:49, not 4:38.

I'm also disappointed that the 3 won't be improving to every 15 minutes, but doing it for the 16 does me almost as much good. Nothing compared to the level of service I had before the rerouting (there were 3 routes that passed within a block of my house every 15 minutes during morning and evening periods in the non-summer schedules), but a step back in that direction is nice.

Great to see the new Route 36 in my neighbourhood runs all day.  There are times I just missed the last 76 and had a long walk home...

Edit to add: Weekends need not apply. :-(

I just loaded my September pass online and it still charged me the old price. Thought the price was going up in September.

The price goes up effective September 1st but idk why they didn't change that price online.

Google streetview shows there was a transit signal at this intersection in June 2016.

I wonder why it never gets used then? The 302 (and the 200 prior) always wait until the green to go through with the rest of the vehicles.

It's strange that there is one there, I think it is not used because there is a receiving lane.  Usually it is used for queue jump lanes where buses will use the right turn lane to get in front of traffic, but here, the bus can proceed into the receiving lane on the far side without a priority signal.

As of today, there is a 3% increase in fares for GRT (cash fare remaining the same): https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener...-1.5264349

In other news the cost for driving and parking in this city remains the same.

Welcome to our climate emergency, we're just going to ride this one out apparently.

It's not 3% (which is already in excess of the rate of inflation), it's closer to 4% for tickets, and almost 5% for monthly passes. The only types of fares going up 3% or less are concession fares.

My feeling is that we're getting service improvements and improved headways on a number of routes, so modest increases are to be expected. And our fares are not too expensive- in Hamilton, for instance, a monthly pass is well over $100. LTC's is only $81, but within the same ball park.

Parking fees did go up this year. At least in Kitchener, they'd been decreasing in real terms for several years, but there were more-or-less inflationary increases this year in both Kitchener and Waterloo.

The vast majority (like 99%) of parking in the region is free and will be free this year too.

I'm glad DTK is matching inflation but let's put it in context.
