Station Park | 18, 28, 36, 40, 50 fl | U/C
Well, they wanna push the brownstone (ground level town home style) I reckon - like 144 Park? I honestly don't know if I would want to pay higher than usual townhouse prices to be at the ground floor of a massive tower but each there own (They are usually the last to be sold).

For those interested in 3 bedroom units, were you guys thinking to buy for self? It would be 500k+ for 3brms I imagine, based off the new 2 bdrms in the area. On 1000 square feet you're looking at approx 500/long condo fees.

Edit: hit submit too early

Can the city mandate them?

First building renders are out, in the latest email. Can view online at https://mailchi.mp/stationpark.com/want-...d714ff1df4

I got the floor plans today via email too. 1B ranging from 500-600sqft. 2B at 700-800 sq/ft. Basically Toronto sized units like the Duke tower has.

Gotta say there are a lot more 347 (yah you read that right) to 499sqft units than I expected from the 'un-Toronto'...

To be very honest, i don’t like these renders or how the buildings looked considering this is supposed to be the focal point of KW, downtown Kitchener.

It is very underwhelming to say the least.

I enjoyed the old Sixo midtown renders more

Need?  Probably more of a practical want for families with 1+ kids, family members/visitors from out of town, etc.  Kind of like having more than one bathroom - comes in handy sometimes.

Any idea on pricing?

The buildings look taller than the ones in the SIXO render.  How many floors in the tallest building?

Somewhere I read 28 and 19 storeys.   The SIXO had a tower being 30 storeys.  I'm wondering if it will have 4 residential buildings or just these two?

Need is a strong word, certainly it is not a need (A friend of mine is raising two kids in a two bedroom apartment).  But it is clearly a strong preference, (my friend will be moving when her children get older), most people would prefer a room per child for an older family, and even a single child family, some would like a spare room for an office or to have a guest room for relatives who may stay.

Not a need to be sure, but as long as there are suburban homes with more, not having 3 bedrooms (or even a few 4 bedroom) is going to mean most families will not even consider living there.

This is disappointing and frustrating. Those units are so small, I wish developers would stop this nonsense.

The old Sixo project renders were much more impressive and inspiring. It's hard to know what the entire site concept is going to be here, but right now the "Union Towers" look like they are crouched behind the Kaufman Mansion. Where the whole Sixo project was unveiled at once so you got a sense of how the site was connected.

I don't even understand why Vanmar threw the old concept to the grinder anyway, with a few tweaks it could have been the landmark development in KW.
