Not sure if we've seen this yet or not but it's the listing for the commercial space.
Fingers crossed somewhere with cheap beer and wings.

Really hoping nova era can move in there and free up the land. I’m torn because I love nova era but it contains a lot of parking spaces in a good location.

A clothing store, an anime store, a grocery store, a housewares store, a pet food store, a boutique etc. Start to make downtown a place that...you know...people went to in order to shop for anything they needed or that they could not find elsewhere.

How do commercial rental rates compare to elsewhere in the Region? I understand that generally they tend to be priced to support restaurants that have high customer turnover rather than retail stores that may not have the foot traffic to cover the rent.

Should be some serious concrete pouring for the podium soon.

For lease sign up for the retail/restaurant portion.

Hopefully we get some cool shops that open up here. No banks, sleep clinics, vape or cannabis shops please.

There are not so many coffee shops or restaurants on that side of Benton/Frederick, either. Business opportunities await!

Am I the only one thinking about this?…..
It has been 2 1/2 years since they began work on this project. They have completed 4 floors. As a nearby resident, we have endured the noise, the dirt & dust, the workers swearing, the disregard for local parking rules, multiple road closures, AND, the great flood (a.k.a. “Lake Cameron). At the rate they have progressed it will be the year 2032 before this project is complete. Is this too much to ask a neighbourhood to put up with?

Drewlo shut down the site during for a few months in early 2020 due to the pandemic, which was a good choice out of respect for their workers. That said, yeah they are still taking a hell of a long time to make any progress on this since they've been back up and running.

Considering that this block has been either derelict or abandoned for more than 40 years, I don't think this is excessively onerous.

They were also still working on foundation work when the site opened back up and that's always the part of the project that takes the longest which is why it feels so slow. |
