It will make cycling to the new pedestrian/cycling bridge easier. FYI, there is a Trails topic under Transportation and Infrastructure.

It all digressed from your post about the Mill St property. 😊

So did this sale not work out?, or did someone peel the sold stickers off?

They have a permit application for interior alterations. Nothing has been issued yet but it is still progressing. Permit 25-112430 "Permit is for interior alteration to create a sports equipment store including adding an exterior ramp".

200 Victoria st S, I believe this was previously a 42fl proposal. This application submitted yesterday calls for a 50fl building

Can’t find the thread if someone wants to move it over

The old B&T / Sushi Stars / Yilmaz Auto buildings are all gone. That is one big open space! I remember some discussion about it here but does anyone have an update on this one?

I believe there was an article in the Record at the end of December or January about a fire station and affordable housing complex going in here. Evidently they've gotten a green light to go ahead.

The city bought it for a fire station and some affordable housing. The city has been working through the design process from my understanding, they had a procurement process open for part of the IPD team. At this point there is nothing submitted with regards to SPA/OPA/ZBA. They've only done demolition to prep the site, similar to what's happening along Borden at Schneiders creek.

I made a thread for the project when it was first announced. https://www.waterlooregionconnected.com/...p?tid=1924

Was just talking to the owner of the Adventurer's Guild who says that the big vacant retail space thats in the King St frontage of the Young Condos is set to be an "international food hall". No details about timelines or anything, but he says he's heard through the potential vendors to be

That should make up for the lack of restaurants on King St ....
But anything that fills retail or commercial space in DTK is Ok by me.

That sounds like it has good potential.

I don't know how many retail units there are, but at least one other is also being occupied by "Gateway Market". Seems to be a convenience chain.

I actually like the idea of vibing food hall...similar to that of The Well, Toronto or Chef's Hall. So long it doesn't feel kore like 'food court' lol. There is a bit of a difference. And there should be at least 8 to 12 vendors ideally.
